My Journey Into Technology Through InSpec

With the growing demand for developers, the IT industry is tasked with bringing more workers into the field. Stereotypes and ignorance are a major blocker to this initiative. I will speak about my journey into technology (from a background in film and art) by learning the InSpec framework, creating a website and using version control for the first time to blog about my journey, and how I attained the skills necessary to become a cloud automation engineer in 4 months.

Annie began her journey into technology in May of 2016 by learning the InSpec framework in an effort to prove its accessibility to non- developers. As a result, she documented her experiences with InSpec and other technologies that were new to her on her blog. Today, she is a cloud automation engineer at 10th Magnitude, a leading Azure consultancy, and is interested in bringing more attention to security automation by sharing her experience with InSpec.
