Moving from Exec to Types and Providers
Martin Alfke - Monday, Feb 6, 15:40 - 16:20 - B1.015
"I don't like Puppet because I am not allowed to do Ruby programming!" - "Puppet types and providers are way too difficult to learn" - two sentences I hear on a regular basis. With this talk I want to show how we started using exec resources running shell scripts, how we failed and why we moved to Puppet types and providers. Additionally I want to show an easy way on how to approach the Puppet Ruby world.
